Membership
Membership of the Chatham Dockyard Historical Society is available, subject to Committee approval, to all persons over the age of 18 who have a genuine interest in all aspects of Dockyard and Navy life combined with local history. Members are encouraged to contribute towards the running of the Society by voluntary activities such as:
1) Help in the Steam Steel and Submarines gallery, talking to visitors about display items and doing research for visitors at our Information Desk.
2) Help manage our Artefacts in our new store in the Ropery.
3) Help digitalise our many hand written records about many of the Chatham-based Royal Navy sailors from World War 1 and World War 2.
4) If you have an interest in photography, we are looking for someone to help in our Studio in the Ropery building.
Our Subscriptions are £10 per annum and a voluntary subscription of £2.50 to the Fellowship which pays for things like tea and coffee, it also helps towards cost of guest speakers on a Friday evening, when we have events 3 or 4 times a year.
Also we have our own magazine "CHIPS'' issued twice a year, free to all members, containing articles about what we are doing and articles written by Members or guests.
Our Research Papers are available for sale in the Gallery, written by our members. We welcome any Member adding to them as long as it is about the Dockyard or trades working there. I.E. Blacksmiths, Boilermakers, Shipwrights etc.

Members pay an annual subscription of £10.00. This is due in January each year.
